Eli Freund Psy.D.

Eli Freund, Psy.D., is a school psychologist and adjunct professor whose career spans direct clinical practice, school-based assessment, and educational leadership. He currently works as a school psychologist with the New York City Department of Education, where he conducts comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs and collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement IEPs. He also provides psychological evaluations and evidence-based therapy through Blue Skies Psychological Services in Staten Island, New York. As an adjunct professor at Montclair State University, he teaches graduate-level courses in Cognitive Assessment, Academic Assessment and Intervention, and Developmental Psychology.

Dr. Freund earned his Psy.D. in School Psychology from Georgian Court University and holds an M.S. in School Psychology from Touro College. Over nearly two decades in the field, he has served in numerous leadership roles, including Supervisor of Special Education and Supervisor of Child Study Teams across several New Jersey districts, and he is a Past President of the New Jersey Association of School Psychologists. He also serves as a mentor through the National Association of School Psychologists, supporting the development of emerging professionals in the field.

A frequent presenter at state and national conferences, Dr. Freund has shared his expertise on topics including the Science of Reading, cognitive assessment, Universal Design for Learning, autism spectrum disorders, and adolescent mental health. His work consistently integrates assessment, intervention, and consultation, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for students with diverse learning and behavioral profiles.
